Welcome to the blog of Newtown In Bloom, a community horticultural group based in the village of Newtown St. Boswells in the Scottish Borders.

What We Do

Here is a small sample of what has been done already to tidy-up and improve our village:

  • A litter picking day was held in the village & 16 sacks of litter were collected

  • Work on clearing the front of Langland's Mill from weeds & rubbish has been started.
  • Faux windows have been painted to put on the frontage of Langland's Mill to improve the appearance of the Mill.
  • Paths & pavements in the village swept by SBC.

  • Bank of Scotland high level shrubs thinned out & tidied up.
  • Two new bench seats have been ordered.
  • New trees to be purchased & planted on Sprouston Road.
  • Co-Op requested to clear litter up & tidy-up the back of the shop.
